How can I become a member?
In order to become a member of MUN Bern you have to be a student (or an exchange student) currently enrolled at the University of Bern. You can become a Member regardless of your field of study. Once you are a member, you can visit all our workshops, events and guest lectures. As an active member you furthermore have the privilege to participate at MUN Conferences and thus be a part of a well-prepared and motivated delegation of MUN Bern!
If you are interested, you can send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and a short motivational letter. We will then send you an application form. Once you are a member you can freely choose which delegation you would like to join. More detailed information about the process of becoming a member can be found in our statutes.
How can I participate?
MUN Bern members are Students of all subjects of study, above all Law, Economics, Political Science, Social Science or History. Our hard working Members are eager to actively participate and to prepare themselves for various MUN Conferences around the world.
Being a part of a delegation and participating at a Model United Nations Conference is an unforgettable experience and is an excellent addition to undergraduate or graduate studies. Model United Nations Conferences attract very motivated, hard-working and creative students from all around the world!
If you would like to participate, you should be a motivated student, interested in international negotiations, global politics, the United Nations and discussions concerning related fields such as economic, social or legal topics. A good command of English is a benefit. In order to succeed at a conference, you can count on our preparation- but you have to be willing to invest some time for it. During our training sessions, you will get familiar with the rules of procedures of MUN and get used to hold speeches in front of other delegates. In our workshops we teach you how to write position papers and how to negotiate about highly interesting and complex topics. Furthermore, we offer special courses in rhetorics held by a professional actor in order to fully prepare you for the various conferences taking place throughout the semester. (See Our Training Schedule for more information).
Teams for the different Model United Nations Conferences in 2013/ 2014 will be built after the Kickoff-Event in October 2013. We will inform you about the exact dates during the summer break.
If you would like to participate in a MUN, visit our Kickoff-Event or contact us at email@example.com.
We are looking forward to meeting you!
